What is Vanadium Funding?

Vanadium Funding is a proprietary trading firm that provides talented traders with up to $400,000 in funding. We offer a comprehensive evaluation process that allows traders to demonstrate their skills and receive institutional-grade capital.

Can I get a refund after purchasing a Vanadium product or service?

Once a purchase has been completed and the credentials or services have been delivered, all sales are final. No refunds will be issued as per our Refund Policy.

How will I be informed of policy updates?

Any updates to our policies will be published on our website. We encourage all customers to periodically review the Refund Policy to stay informed.

Can I dispute a charge with my payment provider?

By engaging with Vanadium, you agree to contact us directly before initiating a chargeback. If a chargeback is initiated without prior communication, Vanadium reserves the right to suspend your accounts and recover any related costs or payments.

Challenge Rules

How does the funding challenge work?

Our funding challenge consists of two phases. In the first phase, traders must achieve an 8% profit target while adhering to our risk management rules. In the second phase, traders need to hit a 5% profit target. Successful completion leads to a funded account.

What are the minimum trading days?

For 2-step challenges, we require a minimum of 3 trading days to complete each phase. For 1-step challenges, we require a minimum of 5 trading days. In both cases, you have unlimited trading days to achieve your profit targets.

What is the Consistency Rule?

For 1-step challenges, traders must follow the 50% Consistency Rule, which means no single trade can contribute more than 50% of the total profit target. This rule promotes consistent and strategic trading.

What is the inactivity rule?

Accounts are considered inactive if no trades are placed within 20 consecutive days.

What happens if I pass the challenge?

Upon successful completion, you receive a funded account with up to 100% profit share. You can then scale your account and continue trading with our capital.

Do I get a refund if I pass the challenge?

VFL does not offer refunds for passed challenges. This policy ensures we maintain cash flow to prioritise prompt payouts for all traders.

Trading Rules

What is the gambling rule?

All-or-nothing trading is strictly prohibited to protect both traders and the firm's capital. Proprietary traders must limit each trade to no more than 1-2% of allocated trading capital, maintain a diversified trading approach, and implement mandatory stop-loss orders. This approach safeguards the firm's risk profile and ensures sustainable trading performance.

Can I trade during news events?

Positions cannot be opened or closed within 15 minutes before or after high-impact news events - this will result in a soft breach. However, existing positions can be held through news events. Please refer to our economic calendar here to check high-impact news timing. It is your responsibility to be aware of upcoming news releases.

Do I have to use a stop loss?

Yes, a stop loss must be placed within 2 minutes of opening a trade. Every instance of failure to do so will be considered a soft breach.

Is there a minimum trade duration?

No, there is no longer a minimum trade duration.

How is the drawdown calculated?

Daily Drawdown: Calculated based on equity, ensuring traders remain within their risk limits. Overall Drawdown: Static and calculated based on the initial starting balance.

What is the maximum daily loss?

The maximum daily loss is set at 5% ($2,500 for a $50,000 account). If you exceed this limit, the evaluation or funded account will be terminated.

Is High Frequency Trading Allowed?

HFT's of high frequency trading EA's are strictly prohibited as it doesn't reflect viable trading on real market conditions.

Is copytrading allowed?

Copytrading is allowed within your challenge and funded accounts in Vanadium Funding or within accounts on other firms.

Is group trading allowed?

Group trading is not allowed. As a prop firm we are rewarding traders for their personal trading skills. Our internal risk systems, are constantly monitoring our flow to detect traders working together and taking the same trades. This is a hard breach.

What are the rules for position layering?

Position layering is limited to a maximum of 3 positions with the same lot size. This means you can only have up to three concurrent positions of identical volume for the same trading instrument. Increasing lot sizes between positions will be considered martingale trading and will result in a hard breach.

What happens if I get a soft breach?

All account phases are assessed by our risk team for soft breaches on completion of evaluation. If you receive a soft breach notification for violating rules such as the news event rule, grid trading/layering, the 2-minute minimum hold rule, or the 2 minute stop loss rule, you will be informed via email. The email will detail the specific trades that have breached these rules. Please note that any profits generated from these trades will be deducted.

What happens if I get multiple soft breaches?

Three soft breaches will automatically be converted into one hard breach. Hard breaches result in immediate account termination. It is your responsibility to ensure you are following all trading rules to avoid accumulating breaches.

Can I hold trades over the weekend?

By default, trading is limited to weekdays only. Weekend trading (opening new positions or holding existing trades) requires the Weekend Trading Add-on, which enables full 7-day trading without limitations.

What are the prohibited trading strategies?

Prohibited practices include: Taking advantage of pricing errors, using insider information, front-running, using third-party strategies designed solely for passing assessments, switching strategies between assessment and funded phases, holding Single Share Equity CFDs near earnings announcements, attempting to arbitrage between accounts, and using Martingale or "layering" positions. Any prohibited trading may result in immediate termination.

Broker & Platform

Are Expert Advisors (EAs) allowed?

Yes, trading with Expert Advisors is permitted in all phases of our challenge. We support algorithmic and automated trading strategies.

Can I get a refund for platform access?

Once platform access has been granted, all sales are final. No refunds will be issued as per our Refund Policy.

How will platform updates be communicated?

Any updates to our trading platform or broker services will be published on our website and communicated via email. We encourage all traders to regularly check their registered email addresses for important updates.

What is the Risk Reduce rule?

If your trading patterns are identified as excessively high-risk, we reserve the right to unilaterally reduce your account leverage, implement maximum risk limits per trade, or impose additional trading restrictions to protect both the trader and the platform.

Payout & Tax

How often can I withdraw profits?

Payouts can be requested every 7 days, providing consistent and timely compensation for your profits.

What is the minimum payout value?

Yes, the minimum payout amount is $150.

What are the available payout methods?

We support multiple payout methods including wire transfers, cryptocurrency (BTC, ETH, USDT), and electronic payment systems. Each method may have different processing times and minimum withdrawal amounts.

How are taxes handled for payouts?

Traders are responsible for their own tax obligations. We provide annual statements of earnings, but we recommend consulting with a tax professional for guidance on reporting trading income.

What is the maximum capital allocation?

Traders can access up to $400,000 in trading capital, with opportunities to scale further.

Affiliate Program

What are the affiliate program benefits?

Our affiliate program offers competitive commission rates and lifetime tracking of referred traders. Partners can earn from both challenge purchases and ongoing funded trader performance.

How do affiliate payments work?

Affiliate commissions are paid on a monthly basis, provided the minimum payout threshold has been met. We offer multiple payment methods for affiliate earnings.

Can I be both a trader and an affiliate?

Yes, you can participate in both our trading program and affiliate program simultaneously. This allows you to earn from both your trading activities and referrals.
